How do candidates apply for job postings?

To apply for a job posted on the RecruitMilitary Job Board, a candidate will click on the green "Apply Now" button located on the right-hand side of the job posting. As an employer, you cannot see the ‘Apply Now’ button, to avoid any accidentally applying for your or another organization’s job posting. When this happens, one of two things will occur:

1)  If you have included an "Apply URL" in the Contact Information section of the job posting, the candidate will be redirected to the external URL you specified to complete the application process. An email will also be sent to the candidate with a reminder that they will need to visit the URL in order to complete the application process.

2) If you have not included an "Apply URL" in the Contact Information section of the job posting, the contact specified in the Contact Information section of the job posting will receive an email notification when a candidate has applied to you job posting. This email will include information such as the job the candidate applied for and the candidate's resume profile, as it is displayed on

Applicants can be viewed on your account from each job posting or from the Recent Applicants tab on the Employer Dashboard page. Please note, if you choose to include redirecting information in the description of the job posting (ie: "Email resume to..." or "Go to website to apply"), the applicants who do so will not be recorded on the system and this will not be an accurate reflection of the success of your job posting.

To access those candidates’ profiles and resumes for each job posting from the Recent Job Postings tab on the Employer Dashboard or Job Postings page (by selecting "Job Postings" on the top toolbar), click on the activities icon – the little gear wheel located to the left of ‘views’ and select ‘view applicants’ or click on the number in the Applicants column.

When you click on the number of applicants, you will be taken to a page that lists the applicants by name. From there, you can click on a candidate’s name and you will be taken to their profile. On a candidate’s profile, you can download their resume and view their contact information, military background, education, work experience, and other relevant information.

You can also view all applicants for a job posting by clicking on the number of applicants at the top of a job posting. This will take you to the same page as above.
